- The bilingual booklet “blr rio” and exhibitions in Montreuil and in Rocinha.
In 2024, the year the Olympic flame passed through Bel Air, young people from the Grand Air community center, in Montreuil, and from Rocinha and Júlio Otoni, in Rio de Janeiro, photographed their neighborhoods with a special eye on sport: the Grands-Pêchers stadium, the skatepark, cricket at the Jean Delbert stadium, football at Portão Vermelho, jiu-jitsu, tennis, dominoes among friends.
“Our neighborhood is in a town east of Paris called Montreuil. It's a friendly neighborhood where everyone knows everyone,” write some. “Rocinha is the largest favela in Latin America. Culture and diversity are very present there,” answer the others. The two groups met through what they made: photographs, sound capsules and texts, gathered in the booklet “blr rio” and exhibited on both sides.

diversité au skatepark
I chose this photo because it shows the diversity at the skatepark. You see a young person on a freestyle scooter in the foreground, and behind, two skaters and a child on a bike. All the board and wheel sports are here.

In the alleys of Rocinha, the posters were pasted on the walls, right where the photos had been taken; in Montreuil, the images from Rio joined those from Bel Air.
