support mOst →Getting involved with mOst can take many forms. You can join a workshop in your neighborhood, share a story, bring a family photograph, lend your voice, contribute to a map, help prepare an exhibition or become a guide at a public presentation. No previous art experience is needed: everyone comes in through their own skills, curiosity and experience of the neighborhood.
For residents, taking part means having a space where they can create and decide. Subjects are not imposed; they take shape from the group’s questions, attachments and disagreements. Everyone remains free not to be photographed, to take back something they said, to keep an archive private, or to choose the form in which a contribution becomes public.
Local organizations, schools, libraries, cultural facilities, local authorities and social housing providers can reach out to us to build a project. We then start from a real situation: a neighborhood undergoing change, a need to preserve memory, a wish to work on visual literacy, dialogue between generations, international cooperation, consultation about a space, or the desire to create an exhibition with a group.
Artists, photographers, videographers, illustrators, writers, sound recordists and documentary filmmakers can join a residency or co-lead workshops. We are looking for approaches that combine high artistic standards, a real presence in the field, passing on skills and a genuine opening up of the creative process. A mOst residency does not invite the artist to use the neighborhood as a backdrop, but to build a relationship with situated knowledge and points of view.
Professionals in social work, culture, education or urban affairs can also take part in our introductory sessions and support. These programs are a chance to try out the mOst method, design an approach suited to their own organization, and strengthen a team’s ability to investigate, create, share back and archive with residents.
Finally, you can support the life of the organization by becoming a member, volunteering, offering your skills, hosting a public presentation, lending equipment or spreading the word about the projects. We look for contributions that respect the central place of participants, continuity with local partners and the responsibility that comes with sharing images and words.
