introductory sessions and support

passing on a method born in the field

mOst offers introductory sessions and ongoing support to professionals who want to make co-creation a real part of their practice. We don’t provide an off-the-shelf program disconnected from the field, or a catalog of techniques. We share a way of working that comes from real projects, with their successes, tensions, and constraints, and the trade-offs that representation and public presentation demand.

These offers are for community and neighborhood centers, MJCs (youth and culture centers), youth spaces, libraries, cultural venues, schools, local governments, social housing providers, local nonprofits, memory and heritage organizations, teaching artists, and cultural mediators. They adapt to the team’s experience, the local context, and the project in mind.

Support from mOst combines three movements: seeing, doing, and looking back. We share key reference points and case studies; participants try out taking photos, conducting an interview, writing captions, making a map, or designing a walk; the group then analyzes the effects and translates what they have learned into their own professional reality.

Topics can include co-creation, outreach, fieldwork, photography, sound, video, writing, sensory mapping, public presentation, cultural mediation, cultural rights, consent, and living archives. Technique always stays connected to a real work situation and to the power to make decisions.

Several formats are possible: a half-day or full-day introductory session; a two- to four-day immersion in a real setting; two to four months of project support; or a six- to twelve-month area-wide journey that brings together several teams, hands-on practice, a public presentation, and the passing on of what was made.

We can also work in pairs with an artist, photographer, documentary filmmaker, or sound recordist. This joint approach brings together method, artistic rigor, and experimentation, especially when preparing a residency, a memory project, an exhibition, or a community consultation.

Our support aims for independence. We help teams frame a question, build a step-by-step plan, anticipate rights issues, budget for production, prepare the public presentation, and document the effects. Tools are passed on to be adapted, not reproduced mechanically. The method stays true to its principle: roots before format.

This support extends our fieldwork. It can pave the way for a mOst project, strengthen an existing partnership, or help local partners carry the approach forward. Passing on to co-create, supporting to leave a trace: this sums up our wish to scale up without losing the presence, the listening, and the responsibility at the heart of our work.
