At Les Ruches, children photograph, draw and record their neighborhood with the artists Maymouna Baradji and Myriam Rabah-Konaté, then meet, through images, the children of the T.L., high up in Rocinha, in Rio.

- “la galerie des ruches · rencontres avec rocinha et la t.l.,” an exhibition in fifteen panels that brings together images from Les Ruches and the T.L.
“Les Ruches is friendly. In the neighborhood everyone knows each other.” Their text says what they love, their homes, the trees “because they help us breathe,” going downstairs to meet up, and what they would like: a soccer field, play areas, a swimming pool, even a trampoline. A poem tells of the silence of the buildings disappearing one by one, then the children coming home from school or from the beach, and Les Ruches coming back to life.
Their pictures converse with those of the children of the T.L., the Terra da Lama, at the top of Rocinha, and of Fotogracria, a photographer born on Rua 4, with whom mOst made “Os Crias da T.L.”: acerolas shared, barefoot soccer, a shower at Paula Brito’s on a hot day. This first encounter prepares a larger project on the neighborhood’s memory with the two artists.

Allan is a very smart, determined boy from Rocinha. His dream is to be a great skater. That day, he was trying to go down a really steep slope on Rua 4 and, after many attempts, he made it.
