What if the favela were the museum? Photography and art direction workshops with the children of T.L., led with the photographer Fotogracria, a cria (born and raised in the neighborhood) from Rua 4.

At the top of Rocinha, in Macega, the area known as T.L., short for Terra da Lama, “the land of mud,” is a place of intense collective life and great creative strength. Participants learned visual techniques, then named their works and thought about the stories they wanted to tell.
“We want art to happen where stories are born.” The exhibition, which brings together the children’s images and Fotogracria’s, stretches across the whole favela, from the T.L. to the alleys of Rua 1, all the way to Boiadeiro and the Estrada da Gávea.
