la calle más chingona de jalisco
in English: “the coolest street in Jalisco”
In Cruz Blanca, in the hills above Ciudad Guzmán, the children interview their neighbors: the neighborhood as it used to be, with no water or electricity; the candidates’ promises; the heat since the trees on the cerro were cut down; the view of the Nevado de Colima; the legends of La Llorona and the caballo del diablo (the devil’s horse); the Wednesday climb up to the Santa Cruz. The film takes its title from the name the group gave its neighborhood.
“The most chingona street in Jalisco” (the coolest, in Mexican slang): about ten workshops in mapping, photography, sound interviews and video, a film and a wheatpasted exhibition in the Cruz Blanca neighborhood.
